Most of you will know me from Suburbanmummyuk And some of you might know me from Nataliya Photographics how ever you got here welcome! This is a basic learning photography blog, basic because it’s pretty much all I know. You are of course welcome to ask extremely technical questions as my husband will be able to answer them. He understands the mathematics of photography.

5 years ago I gave up my full time job to start a photography business. My husband and I went to photography college in the evenings with our Leica Cameras, yes we learned the old fashioned way with a 35mm film camera. I still to this day and it’s only 5 years on think that learning photography on a film camera is the ultimate way to learn. It’s only when I put down my SLR and try and use a film camera fully manual do I realise how lazy I have become.

We are very lucky as not only is it a business for me but it’s a hobby my husband and I can share together. His knowledge is extensive so we bounce ideas off each other and help each other out a lot. Or perhaps we just bicker about who’s better
